Sam Straus is a first year joint MBA/MPP student (’28) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Harris School of Public Policy. He is passionate about decarbonization and renewable energy technologies. Prior to graduate school, Sam served for eight years as a U.S. Naval Officer, most recently working as a speechwriter and data analytics lead within Naval Surface Force, Pacific Fleet. His broader interests lie at the intersection of energy capacity development, grid modernization, and national defense.
