Emily Price is a second-year undergraduate in the College, majoring in Economics and minoring in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Throughout her academic and professional career, she is interested in studying how developing nations can achieve rapid economic sophistication without repeating the environmental damage of earlier industrialization.
Emily is the co-founder and co-president of UChicago Students for Abundance, a student organization aiming to accelerate clean energy and housing development across the nation by streamlining processes and reducing waste. Through her writing for the Sustainability Dialogue, she hopes to amplify underrepresented voices in the clean energy transition, particularly those in her home of Appalachia, and provide a nuanced and realistic analysis of how human wellbeing interacts with conservation and energy goals.
